TG

Our Thanksgiving was perfect. I slaved days in advance cooking. Well. Actually I made one pie, and I made the cranberries.

Mom made: Beets, Pumpkin pie, Mincemeat Pie, Sweet Potato Casserole, Green Beans, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, and a Turkey!

It was easily the best meal we've had in this house so far.

Like any good holiday, it's not just about the food. Mostly, but not all.

The day started with tears and ended with laughter. Mom had to give Dad very specific instructions on what to get out of their RV so that he could shower in the house. Get a towel and a washcloth, or something that simple. He came up from the rig twice without it. After the second time, Mom started crying and said "It just breaks my heart."

Nothing horrible, but it all just points to where Dad is headed.

On the good side, we invited friends Mark and Amy up for Thanksgiving. Nice to have someone beside our same faces to look at and talk to. And besides, it's nice to have two highly skilled photographers along.

It was a really great time, with lots of laughs. We never did calculate out the ratio of pounds of butter in the meal to people eating the meal. Really, no good can come of that.

Then Mark and I finished the day playing too many songs in the basement while everyone watched movies upstairs. Rock and Roll will never die.
